Abstract

In spite of the widespread performance of Intra-articular zygaphophysial joint (IAZJ) injections, no systematic analysis to date has examined the types of adverse events associated with this procedure. In this retrospective cohort study, we describe the type, incidence, and factors contributing to adverse events associated with fluoroscopically-guided IAZJ injections. Adults aged 18-90 years who underwent this procedure between March 8, 2004 and April 19, 2007 at an academic physical medicine & rehabilitation interventional spine clinic were included.
