Abstract

Traditional risk factors for head and neck cancer (SCCHN) remain tobacco and alcohol use but an increasing proportion of patients present without these risk factors. Non-smoking, non-drinking (NSND) patients are increasing, with reports of worse survival. Growing evidence links dysplastic oral and circulatory microbiome with an increased risk for oral carcinogenesis in NSND patients. We are analysing the oral, circulatory and faecal microbiota in patients with oral dysplasia and SCCHN.
