Abstract

Twin studies indicate that genetic factors contributing to ADHD onset are partly distinct from those underlying symptom persistence into adulthood. This genetic heterogeneity, where genetic effects on a diagnosis change over time, is poorly characterized so far. To address this, we derived a new polygenic score that captures genetic variation underlying course of illness in ADHD.
