Abstract

Background: Sentinel lymph nodes (SLN) status has an important role in the process of decision making regarding the extent of gastrectomy in selected groups of pts with early stage gastric cancer. It was shown that the accuracy of sentinel node mapping in patients with advanced gastric cancer will be misleading in a third of the patients and should not be attempted. It is not known if differentiation of the tumor has influence on accuracy of SLN. The aim of our current study was to investigate the influence of tumor grade on SLN status in pts with gastric cancer.
