Abstract
Introduction and aim: Two main mechanical methods of cervical ripening are used: insertion of an osmotic dilators or a balloon catheter. Many trials compared mechanical methods to pharmacological. The effects of different balloons have also been evaluated within last years. One trial compared single balloon vs hygroscopic dilators and another one vs Dilapan-S. No trials compared Dilapan-S dilators vs double balloon catheter. We aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of Dilapan-S and double balloon cervical catheters for ripening of the cervix in induction of labour.
