Abstract

In most patients with aortic regurgitation, aortic valve replacement results in favorable left ventricular (LV) remodeling and normalization of LV ejection fraction (LVEF). However, some patients with severe aortic regurgitation will not remodel favorably and will not normalize their LVEF. The goal of the present study was to determine whether remodeling and clinical outcomes after surgery could be predicted from simple preoperative echocardiography analysis.
