Abstract

Introduction: An increasing number of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) recipients require reintervention after index TAVR failure. Those with unfavorable anatomy for redo TAVR, endocarditis and/or concurrent cardiac pathologies require surgical TAVR explantation (TAVR-explant). Early results of TAVR-explant have shown a high rate of incorporation of the TAVR valve into surrounding tissues, sometimes requiring unplanned repair/replacement and adding to procedural complexity. We aimed to assess if pre-operative computed tomography angiography (CTA) could accurately assess TAVR incorporation.
