Abstract

Versican is a chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan found in the extracellular matrix (ECM) of many tissues and is a major component that accumulates in developing allograft vascular lesions. Growing evidence for the intracellular localization of other ECM molecules prompted us to investigate whether versican may also have a functional role within the cell.
