Abstract
Colonoscopy is the current reference standard for the detection of colorectal cancer (CRC) and its precursor lesions, adenomas. Several tandem studies, however, have reported a substantial adenoma miss rate of 20-24%. Recently a new endoscopic cap with plastic projections, the Endocuff (Arc Medical Design Ltd., Leeds, England), was developed. Endocuff was designed to distend mucosal folds during withdrawal, aiming to improve visualization of the mucosal surface and enhancing adenoma detection.
