Abstract

For the realization of the next generation super sonic transports, the structure material requires high heat resistance property and lightweight. This research deals with the effect of high temperature exposure on inter-laminar shear strength of three-dimensional polyimide composite material which is one of the candidate materials for the structures of next generation super sonic transports. Polyimide composite material is exposured in the circumference with 180℃. After the exposure, the weight change is investigated and the inter-laminar shear strength test is carried out. The results are as follows; The weight of composite material slightly increases with the exposures. The inter-laminar shear strength of the composites decreases about 30% after 3000 hours exposure.
