Abstract
Purpose: Ex-vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) allows time for genetic or other manipulations to repair the donor lung.We have previously shown that IL-10 upregulation leads to inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines and improved lung function.We report on 12h EVLP combined with transbronchial AdhIL-10 gene transfection to improve the quality of pig and human lungs.
