Abstract

Dermatologists frequently diagnose and treat genital warts. Given the expanded approval of the HPV vaccine for individuals up to the age of 45, there may be an opportunity for dermatologists to recommend the vaccine in previously ineligible individuals. To better understand the burden of genital warts in the United States—and which individuals would benefit from it--we analyzed the demographics, sexual history, and HPV vaccination status of individuals with and without a history of genital warts in the 2013-2016 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey.
