Abstract

Ischemia-reperfusion injury is associated with primary non-function and delayed function of transplanted organs. The inflammtory response after ischemia and reperfusion is caused by leukocytes migrating from the bloodstream into the tissue. B-beta15-42 has prompted to reduce leukocytemigration by inhibiting the transmigration process. The purpose of our study was to investigate the protective effect of the fibrin derived peptide B-beta 15-42 on ischemia reperfusion injury in a rat heart transplant model.
