Abstract

A micro satellite named QSAT (Kyushu Satellite) is under development in Kyushu area in Japan. Primary mission objectives of this satellite are investigation plasma physics in the Earth's aurora zone in order to better understand spacecraft charging, and conduct a comparison of the filed-aligned current observed in orbit with ground-based observations. Kyushu University Space Environment Research Center has been developing the magnetometer as the one of the mission equipments. Kyushu Institute of Technology has been developing the plasma probe. Kyushu University, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics has been developing the bus system of the satellite in collaboration with Fukuoka Institute of Technology. We are developing the satellite equipments consist of COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) products with the support of local industries.
