Abstract

There is often the low Reynolds number flow field around the turbine. The performance of turbine is very sensitive for Reynolds number of incoming flow, especially at the low Reynolds number condition. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the effects of the incoming wake from upstream upon the flow field of the boundary layer on the linear turbine cascade by Large Eddy Simulation (LES) with and without the wake. In this paper, the incoming wake is generated by a moving cylinder. These results are compared with experimental data, and shown the flow field of the low pressure turbine cascade well.
