Abstract

In this report, we describe bending strength and rigidity of the Iso-truss structure. It is known that this structure has high rigidity per unit weight. The Iso-truss is a kind of three-dimentional flame structure which constructed axial and helical members. It also looks that multiple unit structure, called "bay", repeatedly appears in longitudinal direction. We focus our interest on a role of axial members, and investigate difference of bending rigidity of the structure with and without longitudinal axial member. We perform experiment and numerichal analysis by finite element method. The result shows the axial member is very important on its bending rigidity.
