Abstract

Objective To provide some evidences for the clinical rational antibiotics application investigating the prophylactic use of antibiotics in women undergoing cesarean section and evaluating the rationality. Methods 402 cases taking obstetric perinatal operation at our hospital from January, 2016 to December, 2017 were randomly selected. The antibiotics choices, timing, and courses were statistically analyzed. Results In terms of drug selection, 247 cases (61.44%) used the first generation Cephalosporin as prophylactic antibiotics, and 144 cases (35.82%) the second generation Cephalosporin. In the timing of medication, 45 cases (11.19%) used drugs 0.5-1.0 hour before operation, 343 cases (85.32%) after ligation of umbilical cord, and 14 cases (3.48%) after operation. In the course of medication, 215 cases (53.48%) were 24 hours, 166 cases (41.29%) more than 24 hours and less than 48 hours, and 21 cases (5.22%) over 48 hours. 12 cases (2.99%) were combined with antibiotics. And the postoperative infection rate of all the 402 cases was 0.00%. Conclusions Selection of Cephalosporin is suitable for prophylactic use of antibiotics during the perioperative period of cesarean section. The prevention of cesarean incision infection can also be achieved preventing the use of antibiotics for a short time after ligating the umbilical cord.
