Abstract
The choice of free flap for optimum reconstruction of the mandible can be influenced by the characteristics of the surgical defect and also by the characteristics of the flap donor site such as anatomical variation and patient body habitus. Occasionally, the characteristics of the resection site and the characteristics of potential donor sites result in a situation where the options for free flap reconstruction are limited or compromised.
