40.4 A Systems of Care Response to the Pediatric Mental Health Patient Surge: Creation of a Pediatric Psychiatric Consult Service to the Emergency Department and a Bridge Clinic

Abstract

This presentation will describe the impact of a pediatric psychiatric consult service (PPCS) to the emergency department (ED) and a bridge clinic on the pediatric mental health patient surge and boarding crisis. There will also be a discussion about how the bridge clinic functioned in providing a hospital system alternative for some pediatric crisis patients and its impact on the boarding crisis.
