Abstract

The causes of wear in rolling bearings are discussed and steps are given to help a designer reduce wear to a minimum. Attention is given to working conditions and the correct selection of bearing type and size with reference to International Standards Organization recommendations. Guides are given for relubrication intervals and oil selection. Mounting details and sealing are also considered.
