Abstract

Before actually starting production on an animated project, the producer must—with the help of others, usually—pull together a core team of select staff, including the writer, the concept creator, director, visual effects supervisor, production designer/art director, visual development artists, and if applicable, stereoscopic supervisor. The producer will be involved with recruitment of much of the key personnel. Participating departments include legal and business affairs, human resources, production accounting, systems administration, and technology. The director and producer collaborate with the recruiting team to select artists. Each individual on the core team plays a significant role in getting a production up and running.
