Abstract

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: The effect of minor trauma on the development of serious LBP illness is not clear. Minor traffic collisions and falls are often said to cause serious chronic LBP in otherwise healthy persons. Conversely, many episodes of minor trauma are never reported or are unassociated with long-term problems. Finally severe LBP often develops without any specific event.
