Abstract
In this work we introduce the use of the 3M PP2500™ film as a quarter wave retarder plate for light at λ=632.8 nm. This film is made of polyester and distributed by the 3M company. Although this film behaves as other commercial retarder devices, it has several advantages that are a low cost and availability.
