Abstract
The K X-ray production cross sections sigma x have been measured for Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu and Zn induced by 3He ions in the energy range 1.5 to 6.0 MeV. The measurements are compared with the predictions of both the first Born and ECPSSR ionization theories using single-hole fluorescence yields. The ECPSSR theory is shown to be in much closer agreement with the data. The obtained values of the Kbeta /Kalpha intensity ratio and sigma x are tabulated. Comparisons of the authors' data with other published results are discussed.
