Abstract

Fundamental parameters of laser and X-ray interaction with matter are crucial in high energy density physics research. ISKRA-5 laser is used for experimental investigation of X-ray transport in various targets. Cylindrical channels investigated on ISKRA-5 are simulated using diffusion-vacuum and kinetic approximations. The effects of 3D target geometry and kinetic character of X-ray transport are discussed.
