Abstract

3D Printed Fe-Shape Memory Alloys In article number 2200171, Dohyung Kim, Irene Ferretto, Christian Leinenbach and Wookjin Lee demonstrate 3D and 4D printing of Fe-based shape memory alloy using laser powder bed fusion technique for the first time. Integrating the material-inherent functionalities into complex 3D structures allows for new functionalities of structures including shape morphing, metal-material behavior, and extraordinary specific strength with shape memory behavior.
