Abstract

In this paper, by using the Fourier transform method and one-by-one slot and one-by-one pole current approach, a 3-D electromagnetic field model of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) is established in detail. Special attention is paid to its structure and the influence of longitudinal and transverse end effect. The distribution of electromagnetic field and performance of PMLSM can be obtained directly and promptly by using the FFT algorithm. Agreement of the calculated values with test results shows the rationality and validity of the Fourier transform method in 3-D analysis of the PMLSM.
