Abstract
Abstract (3-C-trifluoromethyl-β-D-ribofuranosyl) nucleosides of thymine, uracil and adenine were synthesized from 5-O-benzoyl-1, 2, 3-tri-O-acetyl-3-C-trifluoromethyl-β-D-ribofuranoside, prepared by addition of CF3SiMe3 to 5-O-benzoyl-1, 2-O-isopropylidene-α-D-erythro-pentos-3-ulose. 9-(3-C-Trifluoromethyl-β-D-ribofuranosyl)adenine was active against HSV-1.
