Abstract

The prevalence of atopic dermatitis (AD) in the USA is ∼12% in children and ∼7% in adults. We conducted a retrospective, observational, cohort study examining prescribing patterns of the systemic biologic dupilumab for AD using University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado electronic medical record databases. We sought to test the hypothesis that this expensive medicine (∼$3.5K/dose https://www.drugs.com/price-guide/dupixent, accessed 1/19/22) might be less commonly prescribed for Black and Hispanic patients.
