Abstract

The resonance tone generated by jet in the axissymmetric cavity which installed an orifice at the rear end was measured in the radiation sound intensity to the free space from the end of the cavity exit. It is shown that the intensity of high frequency component of the radiated resonance tone is distributed with the strong directivity. It is also shown that the sound power of the predominant component increases in proportion to the 5.0〜6.0th power of the central velocity of the cavity entrance, and its level depended on the cavity configuration irrespective of the cavity expansion ratio.
