Abstract

The driving noise of 12.7mm tray type drive increases as a result of the contact vibration between components, and the contact vibration is caused by the whirl vibration of the unbalance Disc. This study aimed at the development of contact vibration reduction structure and figuring out noise mechanism. The way to push the Rack-slide, which is major contributor of contact vibration, was examined. The following conclusions were obtained. (1) To reduce contact vibration without noise increasing and unsmooth Disc-tray ejection, the Rack-slide should be pushed upward at the foremost point. (2) The noise increasing factor with the Rack-slide pushed is a change of the air flow path under the Disc by the transformation of the Disc-tray.
