Abstract
Development of competence based advancement for surgical training is a desired alternative to the traditional “time-served” approach. A prior study demonstrated that a puff ball transfer drill or OSATS (objective structured assessment of technical skills) was a reliable and valid means of assessing laparoscopic visual-spatial skills. The goal of this study was to determine a benchmark for the puff ball transfer drill.
