Abstract
The title compound, a d-seco limonoid (systematic name: 1α-acetyloxy-14,15β:21,23-diepoxy-3α,7α-dihydroxy-4,4,8-trimethyl-d-homo-24-nor-17-oxochola-20,22-dien-16-one), C28H38O8, was isolated from the stem bark of African mahogany Khaya senegalensis (Meliaceae). The six-membered rings show chair, boat and half-chair conformations, while the furan ring is planar. The crystal packing is stabilized by both intra- and intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
