Abstract

We have developed a novel circulatory support (CS) device that is placed in a pacemaker pocket with a minor operation and provides synchronous, partial hemodynamic support. The long-term goals of this project are to determine if use of this device will improve QOL, promote recovery of the native heart, and improve outcomes in ambulatory patients with heart failure (HF). The purpose of the current study is to establish the safety of the device in ambulatory patients with advanced heart failure.
