Abstract
Purpose: UNOS (United Network of Organ Sharing) was established to facilitate organ sharing among transplant centers, organ procurement organizations and histocompatibility laboratories across the United States of America. After donor hearts and lungs are declined by all regional centres involved with UNOS, they are offered to Canada. The purpose of this study was to determine any differences in intra- and post-operative outcomes between UNOS and Canadian heart and lung donors.
