36. Does the use of hand-held dermatoscope smart phone photography help in achieving clear peripheral margins in cutaneous malignancy – A Preliminary Study

Abstract

Use of Dermatoscope is well recognised for the assessment and diagnosis of cutaneous malignancies. Peripheral margins are usually identified under good lighting and use of magnification loupes before excision. Limiting extent of surgical resection on the face in key cosmetic areas without compromising tumour excision margins is sometimes a challenge. Aim for our study to identify and mark peripheral margins pre-operatively with the use of handheld dermatoscope smart phone photography.
