Abstract

The temperature dependences of both the resonance frequency ana the quadrupole spin-lattice relaxation time T Ichlorine-35 of the solid hexachloroethane and tetrachloroethylene have been studied by the pulse method of the nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR). From the data analysis a discovery of the existence of a reorientation motion of the molecules as a whole in these crystals occurred. The hindered motion barriers were evaluated from the dependence of T I (T) and are equal to 18.4 and 12.4 kcal/mole for C 2Cl 6 and C 2Cl 4, respectively. The results obtained are discussed in comparison with the experimental and theoretical ones of other authors.
