Abstract

We previously reported on suicide associated SKA2 DNA methylation at rs7208505 in multiple brain and blood cohorts that can act as a promising biomarker for suicide. Our data support a mechanism of risk whereby SKA2 reduces the ability to suppress cortisol following stress. Our ongoing objectives are to understand the functional regulation of SKA2 and to assess its association with neuroimaging outcomes.
