Abstract

We developed the method to construct a high shape fidelity multibody model for specific individual by the height and weight only. In the method, individual body shape is created by transforming the basic body shape data, which has average height and weight. The constructed individual body shape can have smooth outer shape by using shape transformation method combining scaling with skinning deformation. Mass distribution of each segment are defined by their body dimensions. Results of falling impact simulations by using both high-shape fidelity and ellipsoidal models showed both the importance of shape fidelity for human model and consideration of individual difference in body shapes.
