Abstract

Within dermatopathology, how an influencer gains popularity is not well understood. Twitter is becoming an important networking tool to share education, research, and career and thus gaining influence could be due to a multitude of factors. In our study we used social analytics software by Cronycle, Ltd. to identify the top dermatopathology twitter influencers. 101 influencers were discovered, 87 were individuals and 14 businesses were excluded from the study. For each top influencer, Twitter statistics such as followers and posting frequency was gathered along with H-index, total citations, and total publications from the Web of Science.
