Abstract

The phenomenon of mini-spots requires a very precise point-localisation, as this is beneficial for the therapeutical success particularly in microsystem acupuncture. Very-Point-technique was originally developped in Oral Acupuncture, for spotting and defining the specific oral mucosa points. This technique is performed by gentle dabbing the needle along the suspected point area, the therapist's fingers being firmly supported. Instantly the patient will confirm verbally or mimically both the precise moment and the ’very‚ spot. Thus the patient is involved in the procedure as an active partner. Owing to very-point detection, also symmetrical segmental points contralateral to a pain area can be traced as well as horizontal point propagations (’segmental belts‚), the same as irritated points in scars.
