Abstract
The 1998 Annual Meeting of the NCRP took as its theme `Cosmic Radiation exposure of airline crews, passengers and astronauts'. Leaving on one side the exotic and fascinating questions of doses to astronauts, control of occupational exposures in civil aviation is a topic that requires consideration at an international rather than a national level. It was good to see that several hundred delegates were attracted to this meeting, with a strong representation from the European Union.
