Abstract
IL-10 is a potent anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating cytokine. Lentiviral vectors (LVs) facilitate stable, long-term gene transduction to many tissues and organs. Prolonged low-level IL-10 production in the lung graft would be a very attractive strategy to achieve a form of “local” systemic sparing immunosuppression in the graft. We hypothesized that lentivirus-mediated IL-10 gene transfer could modulate the alloimmune responses in the transplant setting.
