Abstract
This paper describes a new decomposition method for structural intensity on a plate into each intensity component at a natural frequency. This is based on an approximated description for the vibration displacement that is newly derived here and has some real parts of some natural modal displacements and an imaginary part of only one natural modal displacement exciting near the excitation frequency. The decomposed intensity components have the possibility to predict the structural energy flow path around an arbitrary frequency. The validation of this method is done using numerical simulation.
