Abstract
Introduction: Case reports of acquired dermal melanocytosis on the hand are infrequent. This entity is usually seen in Asian population and the pathophysiology remains unclear. Skin biopsy is necessary to make the diagnosis with histopathologic findings of spindle-shaped cells with melanin granules in the superficial and middle dermis with or without presence of dermal melanophages. We present the first case of this rare dermatosis reported in Northern Mexico.
