34763 A survey study: Examining dermatology residents’ attitudes towards pursuing a career in dermatopathology

Abstract

While dermatology and pathology-trained residents can complete a dermatopathology fellowship, there is an ongoing decline in the number of dermatology residents pursuing dermatopathology. This is a concern, as dermatology clinical training can allow for improved clinical-pathologic correlation and better patient care. Addressing trainees’ concerns regarding pursuing dermatopathology may help reverse this trend. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) designed and distributed a survey to graduate resident members.
