Abstract

Background: Hypopigmented macular lesions in early childhood can be a marker of a sinister disease like tuberous sclerosis or can be the common and innocuous nevus depigmentosus. Differentiation is done clinically and by subsequent development of features of tuberous sclerosis at an older age. We attempted to evaluate dermoscopy as a tool to distinguish between these entities.
