Abstract
Limited data exist on using rituximab for adult dermatomyositis with calcinosis cutis. Of the total of 10 reported cases, only 1 showed complete response and 1 showed partial response to rituximab in terms of skin changes. We present 2 cases of adult refractory biopsy-proven dermatomyositis with calcinosis cutis having significant cutaneous improvement after rituximab. Both patients had widespread dermatomyositis affecting the majority of their bodies with localized calcinosis and differing concomitant therapies.
