Abstract

A 10-year-old girl with a history of facial pityriasis alba presented with an asymptomatic hypopigmented patch on the right leg. Treatment with triamcinolone cream did not alter the appearance and hair loss was noted within the lesion. After cessation of topical steroids, a biopsy revealed a spongiotic and psoriasiform dermatitis with lymphocyte exocytosis and perifollicular and perieccrine lymphocytic inflammation with a CD8 shift. T-cell gene rearrangement was positive. A diagnosis of hypopigmented mycosis fungoides (MF) was made.
