Abstract

Epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EDV) is a rare genodermatosis characterized by impaired cell-mediated immunity against human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Histopathologic features are characteristic with hyperkeratosis, hypergranulosis and enlarged keratinocytes, with gray-blue cytoplasm, perinuclear halos, and prominent keratohyalin granules. In this study, we report that histopathologic changes indistinguishable from EDV can be seen focally in association with other neoplasms of the skin. We also attempt to investigate the clinical and histopathologic significance of such changes.
